Halifax Floor Hockey League‘‘Twas the night before the night before Christmas and all through the house, was Billy Concarney all quiet like a mouse.
6 stockings were hung by the chimney with care, with the hope that the updates would soon be here”
Ya da ya da ya da…sorry, I’m late.
Here is your week 10 recap…
Chill vs Slayers
This one was a high scoring affair. Both goalies played extremely well once things got settled in.
The Chill played their best game of the year and walked away with a 10-7 victory as a result.m
Time for the defending champs Slayers to regroup and try and make some noise in the playoffs.
Hackers vs Fire
The battle for first loomed large over the outcome. Both teams came to play and it was the Fire who answered the call the most in this one. They out bested the Hackers 9-7 and locked up top seed through out “the dance”.
The road to the finals is a tough one so not sure if these guys will meet again…only time will tell.
Lynx vs Sabres
Well this one got cranky at the end. The Lynx dominated the Sabres and tallied 13 to the Sabres 6. Dylan Warren played awesome and the score sheet doesn’t always tell the real story. Larder turned in a great performance in this one as well.
The Lynx seem to be gelling at the right time. A little testy at the end, but eventually cooled down.
So, the hardware goes as follows:
Top Scorer : Stu Whidden
Top Goalie: Craig Burgoyne
Both players will play for free in the upcoming season.
Final standings:
1) Fire
2) Hackers
3) Lynx
4) Sabres
5) Chill
6) Slayers
Although we don’t know the time, we do know the matchups for January 6th.
