The draft was held last night with no fan fair or parents present but wayyyy too much pizza!
If you haven't already received an email from your captain, check out the "teams" tab and that will tell you which team you are playing for, then, contact your agent and ask him or her why you hadn't been notified what team you play for and promptly fire that individual.
here is a message from the Commish:
"Teams are set. First night is this coming Monday, January 22nd.
First things first,
We have a lot of rookies in the league this year. It's important that we all know the spirit by which the league exists. This is our 36th season I believe, and we want everyone to have fun and play hard....but not so hard that you jeopardize the well being of others on the floor. It is up to you to make sure you are in control ion your stick and you emotions. Guys and gals will chirp at one another from time to time. Tempers will flare from time to time, but at no time will we tolerate verbal abuse in the form of name calling or physical contact out of rage or anger.
You will get bumped, you will get the odd stick across a part of your body. That comes with playing hockey of any type, so dress accordingly. But anyone who is found to be doing this stuff intentionally will be addressed and asked to clean it up. We have had rare occurrences of trouble and we want to keep it that way. Anyone who fights will be tossed from the game and the league. Zero tolerance there. Keep your hands to yourself. It keeps things easy.
We have a specific rule "the windmill rule" which is aimed at keeping sticks down. We had a couple of instances where folks took an out of control stick in the facial area and were cut as a result. So the league, in the best interest of everyone who plays, came up with this rule. At the refs discretion, if you bring your stick up and over a players head or vicinity of a player, you will first be given a warning (new players only) and the next time assessed a penalty. I know some folks are not fans of this rule, but those who have played for a while get it, and hopefully new players will as well.
We feel we have a pretty good thing going here, and we want to keep int that way. Enjoy the season and remember why we are all doing this.
Thanks and best of luck!
