Tuesday afternoon, at least nine eager hockey players will be drafted by the six FHL teams. Some of these players have already made an impact on the league as alternates in games earlier this year.
The biggest question mark of the draft is the potential inclusion of former Hacker phenom and league enigma Greg Foran. Foran, who took the league by storm in his rookie season leading the league with a remarkable 7.6 points per game, has since been in a self-imposed seclusion. League pundits have various theories.
League analyst Mike Terris theorized the following: "Foran is the classic case of 'too much, too soon'. He became an instant superstar, and I don't think he was ready for the fame that accompanied it." Reports of Foran hobnobbing with movie stars are well-documented as well as suggestions that he engaged in some of the seedier of the activities that are often associated with the rich and famous.
Foran, who has never been one for interviews declined comment through his agent, Dale Bambrick. "Mr. Foran would like the media to respect his wish for privacy," was the highlight of Bambrick's terse press release.
Foran came out of hiding briefly this season, as he signed a one game contract with the expansion ADC Lynx. In the game, Foran tallied 6 goals and 4 assists in a losing cause and proved that he hasn't lost his scoring touch.
Since the story was written, Greg Foran was selected by the ADC Lynx
