Halifax Floor Hockey LeagueHackers vs Slayers
So first lets look at the obvious.
There is no doubt that on paper the Hackers have it over every other team in this league. That being said, stranger things have happened and the Slayers may have had a chance to beat these guys...until the ball dropped that is!
The game was actually close at the end of the first wth the Hackers leading by a score of 2-1. Then he second started and a bunch of the Slayer's brains dropped out on the floor and this caused some really poor decisions which in turn caused the Hackers to break wide open lead by Bryce "Baby Face" Keating, who by the way grabbed a rookie hat trick and added two helpers, besting his old man by a long shot...
Cooper also picked up 2 gaols and 2 assists. The rest was spread out. The bright spot for the Slayers? Well someone had a head shaped like a lightbulb and that was as close as it got baby! The Hackers had more shots on Kane in the first then the Slayers had the whole game.
these guys are dealt and I will not be surprised if they don't go the whole season undefeated. Who is going to stop these bad boys?
Hackers win this game 8-2
Bulldogs vs Sabres
Next we have the Bulldogs facing off against the Sabres. The Sabres were on a 4 game unbeaten streak while the Bulldogs were coming off a hard fought win against the Lynx.
This one started out all Sabres. They were up 3-0 after one. But then came the second...and Trevor "the Lawman" Mcguigan. Tired of being in his brother's shadows, Trevor decided to exact revenge for all this childhood pranks and evils that may or may not have been inflicted way back when...or at least it makes for a great story line!
Trevor picked up a hat trick in the second enroute to a 5 goal night. Heck even Ryan "Gilligan" Milligan scored a hat trick. We asked Ryan how he felt after the game...he said "like a leprechaun...deeedlee deeedle deeee"
Eric "the Iceman" Eisner grabbed a handful of points with a goal and 4 assists and all the while could be heard yelling "Hey JD...How you like me nowwwww"
Bulldogs dull the Sabres 10-4 in this game
Titans vs Fire
The Fire are a top contender as well. These guys have a new keeper in Mike "The Chef" Degrace and a stellar back court making them one of the toughest teams to score on. TheTitans have been battling a short bench all season and tonight would not change. The Fire just dominated led by John "The Preacherman" McLeod, who loaded his gun 3 times and passed it off 4 for a total of 7 pts this night.
Rob "the Rhyno" Tyrrell grabbed his own hatty and added an assist, while league rookie Ryan "The Taxman" Sampson had 2 goals and a helper. These guys were too much for anyone to handle this night and they took the Titans by a score of 11-5.
Lynx vs Chill
The Lynx have to be disappointed by their season. On paper these guys have a great team with great goaltending, but they just haven't been able to put to all together. The Chill are experiencing a late season surge and had all of their guns going tonight.
Led by team captain Keven"Son of Rob" Pittman, who scored 2 gaols and 2 helpers and by league power forward Jonathan "The KD Kid" Darnbrough who grabbed 2 goals and three assists, the Chill seemed to freeze the Lynx in their tracks. They jumped out of the gate so fast that the Lynx could not muster a come back at all. the bright spot for the Lynx was Ken Heidmen, who has just an odd enough name that I cannot think of a good nickname for him, who had 2 tallies.
This one ended up with the Chill beating the Lynx 9-5
So we want to congratulate rookie goalie Dan "The Man" Nauss for playing a terrific game and earning this week's Eastside Mario's Player of the Week honours. Way to go Dan!
So we are heading into the last game of the regular season and the front two as well as the back two are decided.
The Hackers will face the Lynx in rd one while the Fire will face the Titans in the first rd.
Everything in the middle is up for change. Should make for an interesting night this coming Monday.
Well hat is all for this week folks. Thanks for tuning and in have a great rest of the week.
This is Billy Concarney saying so long and be well folks!
