This is how we do it! week 7 recap

November 4, 2015
Well well well..so we are deep in the mix by now folks and things are starting to take shape.
The league leading Hackers are way beyond this point last year, when they were struggling for a win and now they only have one loss and 6 W's.
But enough off this foolishness...I am Billy Concerned and this is YOUR HFHL recap!
So let's get this show on the road.

The first game we will look at was the Fire against the Titans. So what's in a name you might ask? well Tom Wynn might be able to shed a wee bit oh light on that...because if it were not for his unbelievable play this past Monday, the Fire would have been rendered to nothing more than a spark. Tom turned in one the league best night as he faced 61 shots from arguably some of the most potent fire power in the league and turned aside all but 2. A huge feat when you consider that he was facing Scot "I'm Sexy" Cross and Sean "I'm Not" Fitzgerald. Two big guns on the point.
The game was tied after two and to that point Wynn had turned aside 39 shots...
the third period saw Wynn stop all 22 shots he faced to put the exclamation mark on it all!. His team gave him the support he deserved and scored 5 unanswered in the third.
the Fire take this one by a score of 7-2 and for his performance, Wynn gets the Eastside Mario's Player of the Week award.
Great job Tommy Boy!

Next Up let's look at the Lynx and the Chill. Both of these teams are sort of figuring out where they fit in the grand scheme of things. After a questionable draft, Lynx front man Jon Darnbrough seems to have put the pieces of his puzzle in place and now they sit at the top of their division as a result of a great game by their keeper Marty "The Party" Kane and the last minute heroics of John "The Don" Kedy, who notched the game winner late in the third.
This game was a great game and Craig "the Gargoyle" Burgoyne, certainly gave his team a shot at the win tonight with some huge saves through out the game.
The Lynx had a 3-2 lead when J.D. made a mental error and carried the ball to the from of the net and Jonathan McLeod poked it in the bottom corner to tie the game.
All looked lost for a bit, until (loud booming orchestra Duh Duh Duh Duuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhh) In rode Big John Kedy to save the day. Not to see his team lose out after all of their hard work, Kedy took things into his own hands and ripped one somewhere between the pipes to give the Lynx the lead. The Chill had a great game but just could not get it done in the latter minutes.
The Lynx took this one by a score of 4-3

So here is a battle of the SS's...say it really fast....
The Slayers have had a great season so far and the Sabres could be underperforming a bit. The Sabres were without their regular keeper Matt "The Cat" Coakley and called upon the minors to bring up Marty "The Party" Kane. The Slayers were also missing their goaler and thus called upon Super Goalie Chris "Big C" McKinnon. Both goalies played a great game in this one. The Slayers came out firing on all cylinders  and scored 4 of the games first 5 goals. But late in the second the tide turned and the Sabres took control. They scored two before the end of the second and after two the score was Slayers 5 and Sabres 2.
The third started by Anil "the Medic" Snook taking a perfectly placed snap shot on Kane and gave his team a 6-3 lead. From there Alex "The Guy Who Is Skating On Thin Ice" Gale scored two goals to complete a hat trick and with a goal from Rene "The Storage Wars" Aucoin and another from Trevor "The Law man" McGuigan, the Sabres clinched the win and took this game by a score of 7-6.
Great game all around.

The last game of the night was a blow out. The league leading Hackers showed no mercy as they trounced the undermanned Bulldogs by a score of 14-3. A lot os Coopers and Goodwins with a scattering of Martell and Griffiths made up the scoring for the Hackers. On the Bulldogs side, Chris "the Big C" McKinnon turned in a valiant effort but just could not pull out the miracle tonight. Kevin "Stinky Shorts" Shute had a goal and an assist...yes that's right... it is not an error.
Not much more to be said here.

So that is where we are right now ladies and gents!
The Hackers are taking it to every team they face and it has the guys in the trenches wondering if it will ever be safe to come out. One does not know, but you can mark my words...
the sun will come out, tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, ther'll be sun...just thinking about, tomorrow, clears away the cob webs and the sorrow...yea that ain't true. I think about tomorrow all the time when me missus gets after me about yard work and it never clears a darn thing!

Oh well, I guess that is all I got!.
Have a great week boys and girls and remember...John "The Don" Kedy hammered home the game winner (fades in an echo)

This is Billy Concerned saying so long and be well folks!
