Halifax Floor Hockey LeagueThis is a message from the league executive and Commissioner Martin Kane.
This past week we saw some over exuberant play. Things got carried away in one game in particular that saw a game misconduct handed out which resulted in other game suspension. Again, for reasons uncalled for.
we also have had an incident where players are being disrespectful to one another like egging each other on and some verbal threats being thrown about. This is stupid and immature stuff and the league has no place for any of it.
As a result of the above incidents. we have brought in some rules we feel are there for the better of the league.
Starting immediately, anyone who threatens another player physically as a result of league involvement, which means inside or out side the league, will be suspended for one game. If at any point that play repeats his or her threats to ANY player, they will receive a two game suspension. If it happens a third time they will be removed from the league for the remainder of the season and maybe for good.
Any player who runs, rubs or hits a player around the perimeter o the gym along the walls, will automatically be given a double minor. If injury results, the player will be given a 5 minute major and ejected from that game.
As with any issues that arise, the league always reserves the right to hand out any punishment it deems necessary to protect and preserve the integrity of the league and its players.
I personally and disappointed in the lack of respect that is being shown towards each other. Obviously this does not apply to all of you, but it does to a few and you know who you are. We are keeping an eye out and if you get caught egging a player on, then you will be given a penalty or removed from the game.
please clean your acts up boys. We don't want any goofy stuff happening out there. This is for fun. Let's keep it that way.
Thanks for your immediate attention to these rules and issues.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Martin Kane
