So let's get started shall we!

These Guys Are For Real

Hackers 15 Fire 3

So this was a battle of the first place teams. The Fire had been rolling along and handing out a thumping every week. The Hackers, much the same. Now it was time for these two power houses to face off against one another, maybe a preview of some play off action??? But who knows for sure.

The Hackers made no mistake about it. they are for real and proved it by handing the Fire a beating as they took control early and just kept coming.

They had more shots in the third than the Fire had on Degrace the whole game. 

Maybe the Fire can learn something from how this game was played. Take away a few silly mistakes and two or three off the foots and moved net goals and this would have been a game.

Hackers next victim??? 

Who Is This Harris Guy??

Sabres 13  Titans  8

Larry "The Scary" Harris...a name that no one really feared...until this week. Larry stormed onto the scene two seasons ago and was a little slow to get going, but 27 games later...he blew up and man did he blow up! Larry scored 6 goals and had 2 assists as he led his Sabres team-mates to a 13 to 8 shellacking of the struggling Titans. the only bright spot for the Titans was The Gargoyle Burgoyne who faced a gruelling 64 shots. Other than that, the Sabres just took it to the Titans. Let's see if the Titans can get past this loss now that the Olympic Break is over.

Cowboys and Aliens

Lynx 10  Slayer 6

Ok, so the subtitle has absolutely nothing to do with this game or anything else in the HFHL...well except for the fact that Jason "BOOM BOOM" Boudreau might look a little like an alien.

The Slayers, who are noted for having almost every rookie that has entered the league this year, kept pace with the Lynx for most of the game, but late in the 2nd the Lynx pulled away. There were some questionable antics in this one as players were handed Unsportsmanlike Penalties, which never happens for one guy but we have seen it for the other. We want everyone to know that the league is for fun. 

Baby It's Cold Outside

Chill 7  Bulldogs  4

So the Chill played a solid game in this one. The Bulldogs are tough. Run all the time and have some great talent and goaltending. The Chill also have some great talent in the likes of Keven "Floppy Hat" Pittman, Greg "The Shredder" Schrader and Kev...well...Kevin... ah, "the other Kevin"! (that hurt)

The Bulldogs and the Chill fought hard but it was the Chill led by their fearless leader Keven"Floppy Hat" Pittman and his following "minions of stinkyness" who ended up on top in this one. Great game though!

The Eastside Mario's Player Of The Week for week 5 is Dave "Super" Cooper! Way to go Dave...jerk! (that statement was not meant to be printed and may have come about due to the close relationship between Billy Concareny and Marty "The Party" Kane. It is in no way affiliated with the thoughts or feelings of the league or it's executive...most of them anyway...)

So there it is folks. The Olympics are over and we want to say congrats to our men's and women's teams as they won Gold!

We also want to mention that some goofy over zealous play has been occurring the past couple of weeks. So we have a message for those who are guilty...

If YOU ARE PLAYING OVER THE TOP YOU HAD BETTER SIMMER DOWN BOY!!!! because if not we will kick yo butt out da league! And you know who you are!!!
