A Tale Of Two Kevins...er Kevens...
Chill 10 - Titans 9
Wow, what a game! This was a high scoring affair, but you wouldn't have thought so after the first. Both goalies, Darren "Smitty" Smith and Craig "The Gargoyle" Burgoyne made some great stops to keep this one close in the first. A score of 3-2 for the Titans after the first.
The second saw some more huge saves by Burgoyne, but this is where the two Kevins er...Kevens came in. Keven "The Grunge" Pittman and Kevin "Stinky" Shute started working magic like they have never seen before. Combined they had 6 goals and 4 assists.
The Titans were led by Louis "The Krill" Brill who showed flashes of brilliance as he notched 3 goals and added 3 helpers and Alex "The Windy" Gale who picked up 2 goals and 2 assists. This one came down to the wire but it just was not meant to be for the Titans as the Chill held off their late game surge.

So is this what a draft should look like? The three top scorers from last season all jumbled up together...on the same line!!!!
Woweee! What a night the three stooges had this week! Larry, Curly and Moe or as their teammates call them Cooper, Schellenberg and Urquhart just took control of this game from the opening face off. Trevor "Someone just shoot me" Swain faced 67 shots in this one...and not just any shots, great shots from great shooters.
So how did it break down...well like this Adam - 3 goals 7 assists, Dave - 4 goals 1 assist and the big gun of the night Braden - 6 goals and 3 assists. Braden's performance was enough to earn him Eastside Mario's Player of the Week. For his efforts, Braden will receive a kick in the arse and a $10.00 voucher towards his next visit to ESM in Bayer's Lake! Way to go Braden!
Dogs Bite The Slayers
Bulldogs 9 Slayers 1 ?????
Well how was that for an about face! Last week the Slayers took their opponents to school...this week they must have had a snow day! It was close after the first... 2 zip for the Dogs...but that was all we could find positive for the Slayers in this one.
The Dogs out ran, out worked and out saved the Slayers and handed them a whoopin' in the process! Heath "The Beard" Matheson turned aside 31 of 32 shots to get the win...but this night belonged to "the team".
We asked Adam "I'm Bored" Secord about his team's performance. "yea it was a great game for us. Let this serve notice to all those who get in the Dogs way...Ruff, ruff, ruff ruff!......RRRRRRRRRUFF!"

So you know that Springsteen song...Fire? Well after tonight Matty "The Patty" Monk and the rest of the Lynx sure do!
Despite the heroic efforts of Chris "Careful What You Wish For" McKinnon and his spectacular breath taking saves...well except for the move Scott "I'm Hot" Cross put on him...remember Scott, some where some place a guy is getting thumped for pulling off moves like that, the Lynx just couldn't get it going as the Fire came out hotter than a flame from me mudder's roaster! Offence was not scarce for the Fire as Scotty picked up a hat trick and even an assist...yup, a real live assist for Scott Cross. Magin' dat!
And here is a record that you wouldn't expect to ever see...ever...
It has been two full games and Marty "the Party" Kane has not yelled...at anyone! I'm going to faint!
