Chill 8 Bulldogs 4
So this was a perfect season for the hapless Bulldogs. Up against the number one team in the league, they had a tall order to beat the cool Chill. Unfortunately, there were no ladders present and the Bulldogs suffered their 11th loss of the season. Not without effort though as they even had a lead early in the second...but then came "Wowie Cowie". Adam "Wowie" Cowie scored five goals in this one and paced his team to victory. Tom "I'm So Fine" Wynn had to make some stops while Heath "No Teeth" Mathesons played a solid game at the other end. The Chill will move on as the favorites and seem to be unstoppable...but maybe someone will need to kidnap team lucky token, Peter "I Am" Rankin.
Too Hot To Handle!
Fire 8 Slayers 4
So one would ask the question, why does the second best team in the league have to square off against the 4th best team in the league. The answer is simple...I don't Know!
seriously, the Fire owned the Slayers this night. Rob "The Rhino" Tyrrell had his troops all Fired up and had a well planned strategy and they stuck to it. The Slayers on the other hand were no shows. They couldn't get anything going. Rookie Of The Year Shawn "The Pawn" Mackenzie was held to just two points and maybe the same number of shots. many blame it on the fact that hie "magic stick" broke last week. The goaltending dual was not much of a dual at all. MacKinnon showed up and Kane did not. Greg "Shreddies" Schrader was on Fire and ran the Slayers "D" to the ground, while Sean "Fluffer" Nutter scored the first 4 goals and single handedly won the game for the Fire. They move on to the next round.

Lynx 8 Hackers 3
I have no idea what that headline means but those of you who remember Grand Pre Wrestling will recall Killer Karl Krupp and his often used expression. This brings us to the Lynx and man did they show up to play tonight. The Hackers could not keep up with these guys on this night. With a lead of 7 to 2 after the second, here was just no way the Hackers were going to beat "the Rockin' Chair" enough in the third to get the win. Greg "Ed" Sullivan led the way for the Lynx with 3 assists...and if he wasn't the leader o the board, he was on the floor. someone heard him say "Let's Go fairview on these guys!" Nuff said... Lynx move on.

Sabres 9 Titans 8
So this was supposed to be no contest. After the first, the Titans lead by a score of 6 to 2. The Sabres were supposed to fold and just watch their championship hopes fade...but no, they fought. They fought hard. Still donw after the second by three, they took total control of the Titans and scored 4 goals...count em' one, two, three and four makes a come back for the ages. When we asked Cross what he thought he said "Goody Goody Yum Yum". Let's see how many of you remember what show that one comes from! Sabres win and move on.
So after round one, here's how it looks. The Chill will face off against the Sabres. I give the Chill the edge becauise no one can seem to stop Joyce and Cowie. Then we have a tougher one in the Fire and the Lynx. I give the Fire this one. Rob "The Rhino" Tyrrell has figured out how to get his guys going and when they are going, they keep going, like no one can go. But then again...Shreddies always do get soggy when they are wet! Ha! Seriously, Fire win because Rockin' Chair sucks! Ha! Sorry dude, you know I love ya...This will be a good one and could go either way, but nothing beats a good "Fluffer" Nutter!
