Lynx vs Fire

Tonight's first game saw the Jamesless Lynx rolling into the Firepit to face off against Fitz and his rag tag group of merry men known as the Fire.
The Lynx were severely undermanned tonight and had a monumental task ahead of them. The Fire had more men then their roster could hold it seemed. The ball dropped and righ out of the gate Fire workhorse Jordan Castilloux scored the first goal of the game. This was followed up by Sampson from Fitz and the Andrew O'Keefe grabbed a goal from a pass by Dan "boomer" Cavanaugh. The whistle went to end the first and the Fire had control with a three zip lead.
The second saw the game really get locked up as the Fire out scored the Lynx 4-2 and after the second, it was all but over with the Fire dominating and taking an 8-2 lead into the third.
The third period saw the Lynx regroup as they managed to match the "Fire" power as the teams traded 4 goals each. But without a bench to turn to, the Lynx just couldn't overcome the first two periods and fell victim to a blaze of offence. When it was all over, the Fire won 12-6
Worthy of mention in this one...Chris Sampson had four goals and two helpers, Sean Fitz had a goal and three helpers.

Chill vs Sabres

The Chill we're visiting the Sabres for our second match up of the night. On paper these guys were pretty well matched up. The ball dropped and we were we're off and running. The first periods was dominated by the goalies as they each shut the dorm to keep it scoreless. But an errant stick saw Chill superstar Matt Strum sent to the sin bin with a major and game ejection for an unintentional high stick infraction. This kind of shifted the momentum if nothing more than by taking Strum off the floor leaving his team undermanned against a full squad of Sabres.
The second started and Sabres forward Wayne Hardy scored the first goal of the game unassisted. The Chill answered back when Sebastian Hamel fought for a goal scoring on his third shot in a scramble in front of the net to even things at 1-1
Hardy then scored his second off a nice pass from Bradbury and this was followed up by a Travis Burry goal from Geoff Briggs. After the second, the Sabres had themselves a 3-1 lead.
The third was dominated by the Sabres as their relentless attack netted four more goals, in order of appearance Matt Mitchell, Geoff Briggs, Travi Burry with his second of the night and then Alex Murphy finished it off. The lone goal in the third for the Chill came from Ryan Milligan from Matty Monk.
This one was all Sabres as they win this one 7-2. They fired a total of 49 shots at Strum.

Slayers vs Hackers
This was the HFHL game of the week folks. Both of these teams on paper were strong the number one and two league scoring leaders faced off in Cooper and Alex Gale.
The first period saw both teams pretty even as Kane faced 16 shots to the 13 by Craig Burgoyne, who was filling in for Paul Highmore who is recovering from a blip on the screen. On the scoresheet, the Hackers held a. Slight edge out scoring the Slayers 3-2. Alex McLeod, Jonathan Hudson and Dave Cooper tallied for the Hacks while Alex Gale added two more to his season totals.
The second saw the Hackers score the only two goals. One by Alex McLeod with his second of the night when he unleashed a blast from his own end that went of the shaft of Alex Gale and took on a spin that saw it shift about 4ft and drop two more to find the only opening it could. The othe came off a power play by Cooper from Dave Martell.
The third saw Slayers forward Shane Erb score the first goal of the period off a pass from Joe Murphy, but Hackers rookie who is quietly making some waves, Jonathan Hudson scored a natural hearty to seal this deal and when it was over, the Hackers remain undefeated with a dominant 8-3 win.

So there you have it folks. This is Billy Concarney saying so long and Be Well People!
