Can Money Buy A Wynn? Week 4 Recap

March 14, 2012
Hey folks and welcome to another edition of Concarney Give Gas. I'm Billy Concarney and this is the week four recap.
Scandal has popped up here in the HFHL as certain sources witnessed a certain goalie give a certain commisioner a said amount of cash prior to the game. It is not sure what the amount was, but sources say it was "big bucks" with half being in US funds to try and make the transaction less traceable by league executive. This is still under investigation and once that is finished we will spill "The Beans" so to speak and let you all in on the "Gas".

So here we go, sit down, shut up and pay attention, cause I'm only writing this once!

Chill Freeze the Slayers

Chill 6   Slayers  4

Tom "I Paid For That" Wynn was a solid keeper tonight as he backstopped his team to a 6 - 4 win over the Slayers. The Joyceless Chill depended on team captain and big head Adam "Wowie" Cowie for most of their offense as he counted 6 points in this one, 4 of which came in the third. The Slayers seemed to anywhere but at the game, but this didn't seem to phase team head Barry "I Think I Am Pretty" Coolen. We asked him what he thought. "oh well. The goalie was weak tonight, the "D" were playing forward, the forwards weren't playing "D". It's all good though, at least we know where we are coming up short so now we can only get better for the next game. Anyone interested in Kane?"

Titans On A Roll

Titans 14  Hackers  10

The Titans scored big again this week, but this time it was for the win. The last time they scored 14 it was for a tie. Team captain Jeff "My arms are some big" Shute was smiling ear to ear after this one. Pierre Joyal was on his game as he stopped 26 shots and git the win. At the other end, league rookie Craig "the Gargoyle" Burgoyne had another rough outing but is still in the feeling up process. Team Captain, Dave "The Super" Cooper was thinking trade after this one. "yea, i'd take Kane and Lebreton for myself and Burgoyne...Ok I'm not serious, but we need to start seeing some results here as an organization and if it doesn't happen quickly, we'll have to try and move some guys.

Lynx  conquer Bulldogs

Lynx  7   Bulldogs   4

In the battle of the "animals", the Lynx proved to have more fight than the dogs in this one. the dogs, missing their two top players once again this, were led by league rookie Nick "Oscar" Myers who had goal and two assists. The Lynx captained by Matt Monk have been a real force thus far and are showing the rest of the league that they are the team to beat so far.
the Bulldogs hope to get back into thing next week when the missing Thompson and Cameron are due to return. New comer goalie Heath "I Need A Shave" Matheson is still trying to figure the game out, but shows steady improvement with each game.

Fire Finally get A Win

Fishman Chris "The Fish" MacKinnon picked up his first win of the season this past Monday as he helped to lead his team to it's first win of the season. Team captain Rob "The Rhino" Tyrrell was on fire as he recorded 7 points. The Sabres were down 6 - 2 by the end of the first and just couldn't recover. This was pretty uneventful so not much to add to this.

So that's it for this week guys.
I'm Billy Concarney saying so long and if you ever wondered where I got my name, search Concarney and Gas...you might even be able to find a good recipe or two.
So long and be well!
