Trade day finally brings a trade!

My oh my and color me bad! This is one big day here in the HFHL and this is one great reporter named Billy Concarney here to tell you all about the history that was made this day in the HFHL.

Today folks, a first was made as the Sabres and the Slayers made a 4 player deal that will go down in hysterectomy as the first ever of it's kind.

After long and sometime hard meetings that took place behind closed doors, the Sabres and the Slayers were able to agree on a deal that will see a great forward in John "Get Off MY" Couch and a rookie by the name of Matt "Anything For" Melady go to the Slayers while Roy "I Got the Junk" Monk and Colin "No Time for Delilah" Sampson head over to the Sabres.

We asked Slayer GM Barry "Cool Whip" Coolen his thoughts. "Well we have a new goalie starting for us tonight and we just felt that picking up Matt and John was great timing for us. It freed up some capital to maybe keep paying for our training facility for a while longer and gives us some very strong offense. I'm excited about this deal."

Mean while acting GM Martin "Candy" Kane had mixed feelings about the deal. "Yea, you never like to see guys move on, but sometimes it just has to happen in order for your team to move in the right direction. We hadn't been able to get Couch out this year because his agent was always getting in the way, but no worries now. As for Matt, great guy, great guy. he had a bit of a tough time here. He is a forward and we asked him, ok made him play "D". It was a hard transition and it really wasn't fair for him. Hopefully he will get to play where he wants with the Slayers. Looking at what we got, we are more than happy. With Tyler out for the rest of the year, we needed to get some more "D" in there and we get that with both these guys.

Monk is a great utility guy and Colin has more than held his own for a rookie. So we are pleased as well."

The phones are pretty quiet right now and we aren't expecting any deals to go down before the drop of the ball tonight, but finally we have had a trade! What strides of greatness we are making here at the HFHL.

Maybe this will be the ball that starts things rolling and we'll get more of this in the 2011B season.

Well there it is, the first ever trade. I'm so excited!!!
