Week 4 Recap....

October 19, 2010
Chill 7  Bulldogs 5
The Chill continue to freeze their opponents as they won another low scoring affair against the basement dwelling Bulldogs. This was a great game from start to finish and wasn't decided until the last part of the third period when the Chill scored the last two goals. Bulldog goalie Tom "Loverboy" Wynn kept his team in the game with some key saves but couldn't solve Mike "The Riddle" MacInnis as he kept up his scoring ways by adding 3 more to his year totals. "I don't want to go back to the minors" said MacInnis. "I know I can't make the team as a keeper, but hopefully Chill management will see fit to keep me on the team as a work horse."
Despite the loss, Bulldogs captain Gill "The Magnificent" Mombo scored the games two prettiest goals with some Savardian type spin moves to roof the ball off of his back hand.

Fire 12  Hackers  9
The Fire kept the heat a comin' as they lit up cup kissing phenom Michael Hunter for 12 goals in this one. This was clearly not his fault as his team simply did not help him out at all during this one. Fire captain Rob Tyrrell scored 5 goals and added 2 helpers to lead the Fire. The Hackers were led by Ryan Milligan who had 2 goals in a loosing cause. We asked Hackers captain and GM Neil "The Deal" Cameron what he thought was going on with his team. He had this to say.
"Well it's clear that I have either made some really bad choices in picking my team or we just aren't gelling as well as I had hoped. We have set up a bonding night and we are all going down to Olympic Bingo for a night of fun and relaxation later this week. If that doesn't work, I'v rented one of those jumping castles for the weekend. No families or anything, just us guys you know. Hanging out, feeling the love, with jumping castles and popcorn everywhere!" Good luck with that Neil!
The Hackers and the Fire both hold down second place in their divisions.

Sabres 12  Lynx 10
Ok, so this one saw running back Scott  Cross carry the ball for over 100 yards and quarter back Matt "Where's my Hat" Clarke throw for over 300 yards...or at least that is what you think you should read when you see a score like this! What is that!? Anyhow, this was a wild and wacky game that saw both teams shy away from defense and go at it with all guns blazing. In a game where the Lynx had their best offensive outting of the year, they just couldn't keep up with the Buffalo wannabes. Scott Cross had a field goal as well Craig Biedler who had a field goal plus one for the Sabres. The Lynx were led by Tom Griffiths who had a field goal. There were a few touch backs, but no fumbles. Each of the goalies got sacked numerous times.

Slayers 7  Titans  7
This was another great game which saw the mighty Titans control most of the game with their stellar ball movement. New comer Shaun Goodwin scored the nicest goal of the game as he split the defense...twice!!! and then buried it low to the blocker side of Slayers fill in goalie, Martin "Candy" Kane. The night belonged to Titans captain Jeff Shute as he scored 5 goals and added 1 helper. The Slayers were a bit lack luster tonight, but still shoed just how good they are by coming up with a tie against a team like the Titans.
We asked titan captain Jeff Shute about the game.
"Well, we knew that if we controlled the game by passing the ball around, then we would have a chance against these guys. They had the "Fat Old Guy" in nets tonight and that sort of pumped us up a bit as well. Goody doesn't like that guy much, so he wanted to light him up. We scored 7, that's a good thing to take away from this one."

A wee bit o' trivia for y'all...
Did you know that Johaan Tienhaara and "Teddy" Graham Dodge can both sleep standing up. Yes that's right, we saw that last night when they were reffing the Chill vs Bulldogs game.

That's how it looked from here folks. Have a great week and remember, if you give out Extra Strength Fisherman's Friends for halloween, you'll never have to give out any treats again!

Be safe people...
