Rookies Under Microscope as Preseason Begins

Tonight at Needham Center marks the unofficial beginning of the ADCFHL's 3rd season (2000A). Veterans and rookies alike will lace up their sneakers in hopes of getting in game shape, and impressing any would-be coaches that may be in attendance.

Last season provided the league with a strong rookie crop, which included top ten scorers Greg Foran, Steve Chaisson, and Randall Leard. Chaisson and Leard impressed early in the last preseason, so tonight's scrimmage may be a good indicator of new talent this season.

With team's undecided, many players are treating tonight as a tryout. In attendance, will be two-time league champion John Dulong, who will only be allowed to keep two players from last season's championship squad. Players may be trying to impress Dulong especially, in order to get a coveted roster spot on the legendary LAN Hackers team.

As the result of various players splitting time in other leagues (in Los Angeles and Virginia), some changes will be immediately visible. Notably, the new team captain of the Keane Fire will be Stephen Barriault, who is replacing league commissioner Michael Griffiths. Griffiths has signed a short term deal with the Virgina Slims of the VHL and is expected to see reduced action in the ADCFHL.
