Play off Scenario

April 4, 2019
Hey folks. Hope you all are ding well and didn't get washed away in all this rain. My name is Billy Concarney and here is a look at the season and the play offs.

The Hackers, once again, were the top team in the league this season. They were a high scoring juggernaut and would be the hands down favourite to win it all this season.
Led my the leagues 2019 A Season top scorer Joe Murphy and the second place finisher in that category Dave Cooper. These two amassed 90 points in 10 games total. and a big congrats goes out to Joe for his rookie season dominance and the Hackers for a great regular season.
Also worth while to note that Craig Burgoyne topped the goalies this season with the highest save percentage. It was close race there, but Craiggy Boy held on. Congrats Craig!

The Fire and the Slayers were neck and neck heading into to last week's game and boy was it a doozy! The Slayers jumped out to a quick and dominant 6-2 lead, but the Fire chipped away and took the lead and held it...until 14:55 of the 3rd..when he Slayers tied the game with Highmore out of the net for the extra attacker.
5 seconds....this one is a tie...yea...no
Ball drops, Fitz shoots at Highmore, Matt Strum runs in unattested and buries the rebound and all in 3 seconds!
The Fire win this game 8-7 and clinch second place for the season. That left the Salyers licking their wounds and sitting in 3rd but still had a great season.

The Sabres finished 4th in the regular season and with some trades and a couple of decent rookie picks, Kyle Bradbury put a good team together and they could rattle a few cages during the play offs.

The Lynx clinched the 5th spot with a decisive win over the Chill on the last night of the season. This means they elude the Hackers n the first round but still face the Fire, who are a formidable opponent.

Last place finishers were probably the "what happened there" story of the season were the Chill. Scott Cross picked a great team but for some reason they have been underachievers to say the least. With the loss of Matt Clarke and Kane being injured, they have had to fight an uphill battle all season. But don't count these guys out. They have a talented roster and in a one game scenario, that can prove to be a deadly combination as we have seen before in this league.

So, Monday nights match ups are as follows:

7:00 Lynx (A) vs Fire (H)
8:00 Chill (A) vs Hackers (H)
9:00 Sabres (A) vs Slayers (H)

Three winners advance, losing team with the best plus/minus in round one moves but will be the last seed in the next rounds.

Thats where we are folks.
Thanks for a great regular season and lets have some fun in the first round.
This is Billy Concarney saying so long and have a great week!
