The 2008A season came to a close Monday with 3 teams finishing with seven wins. Appropriately enough, in a season filled with ties, the tie column determined the top team, placing the Needham Division's Chill on top of the pile with 16 points and a league leading +35 goal differential. Nipping at the heels of the Chill however, was the Titans with 15 points at +21.
The Bulldogs also put in an impressive effort as Bloomfield Division champs, finishing 7 points and 4 wins ahead of the competition. The Bulldogs also join the other 7 win teams as the only 3 teams to finish with a positive plus/minus at +15.
The Lynx, Slayers, Lite-Sabres, Hackers and Fire round out the pack, but of particular note has been the last place Fire, who while only having one win, have recorded 3 ties of particular interest. Two of those ties were recorded against the first and second place Chill and Titans, with the tie against the Titans coming in the last week of the season. Has the Fire been lit at exactly the right time? We'll have to wait and see…
Editor's Note: OK, looks like the stats guy (me) got it wrong. The Titans actually finished with 6 wins at +17 and 14 points. Oh well, the mistake made for a good story…
With first round cross-overs, the playoff schedule looks like this:

Floor 2 - Lite Sabres (3) versus Titans (2)
